CLODX, The Cleveland Organization of DXers will hold its semi-annual bake sale from 12:00 - 5:00 pm on Saturday, October 5 in front of the Cleveland Greyhound bus terminal. CLODX treasurer Gordon Obetz asks "Let's not all make chocolate chip cookies like last time, ok guys?" (Sounds like fun. Do you guys do mailorder? - Bill)

SASWA's Maryland Eastern Shore branch will gather at Bill Rumbley's house in Chance on Sunday, October 13 to rake his yard, cut the lawn, and clean up his vegetable garden. Please bring a rake or lawn mower if you have one. If everyone does a good job, Bill promises to explain how to write a reception report afterwards. BYO food and refreshments.

Little Havana-Miami SASWA will meet at Rolando Bermudez's house on Tuesday, October 15 at 8:00 pm to discuss methods of fund-raising. Options on the agenda include having bake sales, selling light bulbs, holding car washes, and kidnapping prominent local businessmen for ransom. (Why not combine all of them - wash local businessmen and then sell them at bake sales? - Bill)

Our Central Arkansas chapter will hold its monthly dinner meeting at Haile's Ethiopian Restaurante in downtown Little Rock on November 12th at 6:30 P.M. (Is that the one where you go and sit for six hours and then they bring you a bowl of soy meal? - Bill) Call Zach Glover for details at 501-ARK-DXES.

New Orleans SASWA is holding a DX Picnic on Sunday, November 17 from 4:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. There will be fun family games like an R-9000 toss, beverage antenna tug-of-war, QSL-eating contests, and more. The picnic will end with a traditional DX sing-along around a campfire started with a WYRR program schedule!
